Karttu (Reksaari, Rauma)
Karttu is a former fisher’s house, now open to visitors. This is located on the island of Reksaari, on the site of what was a medieval trading place in the 16th century. The remains of this trading place can still be seen, among the ruins of the Kartunkari church and ancient graves found on the grounds. There is also a barrow, Kartun kiuas, which is believed to be an ancient sacrificial site. The house was permanently occupied from the mid-1800s to the 1950s. Reksaari has accommodation and restaurant services. Other activity options include a beach, sauna and nature trail. The Reksaari island, with its 300 hectares, is ideal for hiking, fishing and canoeing. A boating route with a nominal depth of 1 metre passes by Reksaari.
